Jane and Scott Sandifeer started about six years ago with a dream of producing a better product - Piedmontese beef, using cattle more suited to the Texas heat and dry pastures of Northeast Texas, more efficient and higher yield than the British and continental breeds. They started crossing beefmaster and shorthorns on Pieds and began a fullblood herd. They expanded into Southdown sheep for a high quality lamb product, and the Rockin SJS Farm, Farmersville, Texas was in business.

After focusing on the Farm to Market business, and expanding available products (all natural, grass fed one or two copy Pied beef and Southdown lamb) to include not just steaks, hamburger, roasts and other traditional cuts, they developed a line of pure Pied beef sausages, now including jalapeno cheddar and peppercorn summer sausage, hot and sweet Italian sausage, German link, and bratwurst. All animals are individually sourced and verified at least one copy Pied myostatin, increasingly two copy. Meat may be purchased at the Raintree Ranch Inc, online or the Farm to Market store. All meat is aged, cryovacuum packaged, and frozen. Prices range from $7.50 per lb ground meat to $23-24/lb for filets. Animals are grass fed up to a weight of about 1300-1900 lbs, ages 24-28 months, for maximum yield with fabulous taste.
